I don’t know about you but fathers day gifts are hard to do. You can always get him a world’s greatest dad mug, a BBQ apron or something like that. But so many ideas are so generic and don’t really convey to those amazing dads out there how much we love them.
I got inspired to do this fathers day book from the Mothers Day book I made up for my own mom several years ago when I was trying to come up with a great, heartfelt gift for my mom. So why not do a dad version!
To make this fathers day book I started with some printed pages (you can find them in my shop here) printed on some plain copy paper or thicker cardstock if you want it to be a little more sturdy.
Next step is cut each page out. Each page ended out being 3.5″ by 8″.
You can free hand it but I love using my paper cutter. Before this I had smaller scrapbook paper trimmer like this but then I decided I needed to get something a little more heavy duty and I love this one. I use it all the time for crafts or in my home business.
After the pages are all cut out it’s time to put them together and you can do that a couple of ways. You can staple it like this:
Or you can tie it together.
I used my crop-a-dile that I had from my scrapbooking days (it’s super heavy duty and can cut holes through some pretty thick materials!)
Then I used some bakers twine to bind it all together and glued a small rectangle of cardstock to hide the binding. You can see how I did it below.
This Fathers Day book is a quick but personalized gift that you can do with your kiddos or even give to your own dad!
